Book Bites: Understanding How We Learn by Megan Sumeraki and Cynthia Nebel*

As busy educators, finding time to read books that stretch our practice can be difficult, and choosing just one can seem even harder. Each year, the Teacher Solutions Team explores motivating educational works to apply and enhance our teacher leadership. In this session, participants will get a glimpse into the team's learning and take “bite” out of “Understanding How We Learn” by Jude Weinstein Jones and Megan Sumeracki. The discussion will highlight basics of human cognitive processes and strategies for effective learning.

In this session, participants will get a glimpse into the team's learning, take a “bite” out of “Atomic Habits” by James Clear, and leave with direct applications. The discussion will highlight the four laws of habit creation and apply them to their work life and home life.

The discussion will highlight the three types of feedback and navigating feedback in education.
